Harwin has upgraded its online cable configuration tool, first launched at Electronica 2024, with new features and expanded product coverage. Designed to reduce the time engineers spend designing cable assemblies and enable ‘right-first-time’ configurations, the interactive cable configurator now includes the Gecko, Kona, and M300 ranges of Harwin’s high-reliability products.
Engineers can specify mixed layouts of power and signal connectors for the Gecko range. They also can choose from multiple wire gauges and standard cable lengths of 150 mm, 300 mm, and 450 mm, as well as define wire color options and indicate required wire lengths.
The online tool also offers several other upgrades that make it easier for designers to design and specify assemblies for “must-not-fail” applications. New features include a wider range of 3D model formats and instant generation of 2D drawings in PDF format.

Engineers can configure high-reliability connectors in a single- or double-ended cable assembly through the selection of a few key design parameters. A 3D render is automatically created in real time for download along with technical drawings, part numbers, and the option to request a quote.
The cable configurator is fully integrated into Harwin’s automated ordering and manufacturing processes. These fully functional configurations are guaranteed to meet specification and can be supplied with short delivery times, Harwin said. In addition, users can reverse engineer designs to generate configurations and quotes for existing solutions.
