Infineon Technologies AG and Typhoon HIL have collaborated on a fully-integrated, real-time development and test environment for key elements of xEV powertrain systems. The new solution enables automotive engineering teams working with Infineon’s AURIX TC3x/TC4x automotive microcontrollers (MCUs) to use a complete real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation and test solution for the development of xEV power systems.

The HIL simulation and test solution for AURIX TC3x/TC4x MCUs leverages Typhoon’s HIL simulator for ultra-high fidelity motor drive, on-board charger, battery management system, and power electronics emulation, providing a plug-and-play interface via the Infineon TriBoard Interface Card. The solution was developed to help streamline validation workflows, accelerate design and testing processes, and reduce development costs, while easing design complexity.
The new solution includes several Typhoon HIL simulators for real-time digital testing, a suite of testbed hardware and software tools, and the Infineon TriBoard Interface Card, which supports Infineon AURIX TC3xx and AURIX TC4xx evaluation boards. The interface card plugs directly into a single row of DIN41612 connectors on the front panel of the HIL simulator.
Typhoon HIL also offers an automotive communication extender for its HIL simulator solution based on an AURIX TC3xx processor. This will provide an enhanced communication interface that allows customers to connect to a larger number of heterogenous ECUs under test via CAN, CAN FD, LIN, and SPI protocols, Infineon said.
The TriBoard Interface Card is available now.
