Extending the lineup by over 30%, the Kona Horizontal range includes nine new right-angled 4-, 3- and 2-pin single-in-line (SIL) connectors for board or board-and-panel mounting, providing space savings in extreme environment applications, along with EMI shielding and housing rear-caps for each connector. Single-pin right-angle cable female and 90° male connectors have also been added.
The EMI shielding options are manufactured from an aluminum alloy, weigh between 6.8 and 9.4 g, and add 2.2 mm to the connector height. The housing rear caps are constructed from thermoplastic PPS (polyphenylene sulfide).
The high-reliability connectors feature a pitch of 8.5 mm with a 3.65-mm PC tail. The RoHS-compliant housings are manufactured using high-performance thermoplastic PPS and all parts operate over a temperature range of -65°C to 150°C. Other features include individually shrouded recess contacts, polarized connections to prevent incorrect mating, beryllium copper contacts with gold plating, and 60-A current rating per contact. The beryllium copper contacts with gold plating provide reliable and corrosion-resistant electrical connections.
The Harwin Kona Horizontal lineup of right-angled connectors and accessories are available now. Evaluation samples are available on request online.
