Air quality sensor ready to ship

Mouser Electronics is now stocking Panasonic’s SN-GCQB1 laser type air quality sensor. The sensor accurately measures temperature, humidity, particulate matter, Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOCs) and equivalent carbon monoxide (eCO2 ). Suitable for indoor and outdoor monitoring, the sensor suits retail, medical and smart building industries.

It supports applications including HVAC systems, air purifiers, greenhouses and industrial/manufacturing facilities. The product uses a precision optical sensor and laser diode to detect particulate matter, including dust, fly ash, soot, smoke, aerosols, fumes and condensing vapors.

It can also monitor emissions from construction materials, fireplaces, forest fires and waste incineration. The sensor features an optimized air pathway structure to reduce particulate accumulation and safeguard electrical components. An onboard microprocessor and micro-fan improve the sensor’s functionality and efficiency, while autocalibration ensures accurate measurements for a usable life of over ten years. Measuring 37 by 37 by 12 mm, the sensor suits wearables, smart home applications and other compact devices.
